    • heres my story: i jsut got my a lvl results, werent that good GP and Econs were S, phy/chem/maths BBC respectively

      P.S. i going army soon

i heard i have two choices:

1st: skip ns first, apply for a course in poly(study for 2 years), after that use diploma to enter suitable uni course

2nd: my fren say, becos my GP result no good, so if wan to apply course in uni must take some preliminary english test, if can pass that then maybe got chance

anybody have any info/details on the two choices above pls post any relevant websites and i'll need help on how to withdraw from ns first after i made my choice

    • It dependes on what you want in the end.If you really want to go to UNI,defer NS for now and go to poly.

    • what is S for GP and Econs?

what course u wanna take. NUS more stringent on GP but not NTU for sure. NUS will call up for interview though.

BBC is not VERY bad la. theres this saying,
“dont get more than 1 “C” sure get into uni.”

i have a feeling you still can enter uni, maybe not the course that you really love though.

and pls tell what’s S for GP lol

    • too late for deferment since u have completed your a levels. and i am pretty sure mindef wont allow you to defer too.

just go poly after ns (if u are referring to health science courses which req a level cert)

S is subpass aka AO pass.

and failing H1 econs and gp is kinda depressing since entering uni requires all the subs to be taken into consideration.

If go uni, you can fail the preliminary english test and still go in. Just that you will need to take an english module.

Anyway, you can do what I did. I retook my GP during army, and improved my grade by 3 grades. What course are you planning to enter?
