Okay, okay, this may be a little whiny.... just a little pissed....
I was having lunch just now..... some curry rice with roast chicken.
Basket.... not only did the hawker raise the prices, the chicken pieces have shrunk as well! The chicken was about half the size of what it used to be!

I don't mind paying a bit more in light of rising raw food prices, provided that quality is maintained... after all, the hawker needs to make a living too, no?
But lowering QC on top of raising prices is not the way to go!!!

Hmm...... thinking of getting for myself an entry-level DSLR.
I need to take lotsa high-quality flow visualization pics anyway for my project.... if I have a camera of my own, then I won't have to fight with the other students for the limited cameras that my lab has.....
I was at Sim Lim just now.... seems that I can get a D40 kit for under $700, and a D60 kit for around $900.... hmm....

Would you believe it.... I haven't gone jogging for over a long, long time. Too much work to do. The last time I went was the 2.4km during my IPPT three weeks ago!
How am I gonna run the Stanchart half-marathon in December? Sigh.....
Oh well.... back to work.

On the bright side of things, the techie didn't have to reinstall the OS.
He said that if he really had to do that, there would be absolutely no way to recover any of my files on the HD. And those are really irreplaceable files pertaining to my academic work.
I've always thought that doing weekly backups is more than enough. Think I'll now do it at the end of each day.

How? I'm a mechanical engineer leh......
I don't even understand how the RAM chip came loose.... I certainly didn't give the CPU a chokeslam or anything like that!
And the last time I used it (last Saturday), it was working perfectly fine!
Oh well. Everything I own is doomed to failure.
*gets really depressed again*

*me mysteriously appears in a puff of smoke*
My new custom-made desktop suffered from multiple BSoDs last night.
Just got back from Sim Lim to get it looked at. It turns out that one of the RAM chips was loose from its slot, that's all. Now it seems to be working fine again.
Sigh...... That was the reason I was so depressed for the whole of last night and this morning.

A few days, maybe?
I remember it took NUS nearly two weeks just to print out my academic transcript when I filed a request for it. Cost me $10 too.
Your poly should be able to print out your cert and academic transcripts for a small charge.

First, we have the Ferrari chief saying that the track is a circus. Never mind that their own clowns were the ones behind their fuel-line mishap.
Now, Red Bull is saying that static from an underground subway screwed up its gearbox but mysteriously didn't affect the other teams.
Doesn't matter that Red Bull didn't accuse SMRT outright..... those remarks are bad enough as it is.
What's next? Someone wants to claim that the petrol was tainted with melamine?

AHAHAHAHA!!!! I had a funny experience just a few minutes ago....
As you guys may remember, my bachelor's degree was in mechanical engineering, with a specialization in aeronautical engineering. My class created our own polo tee just prior to graduation...

Then just as a joke, we put emblazoned the back with the words 'ROCKET SCIENTIST'. (we did learn about rockets, but just a bit about its propulsion)
:
Then just a few minutes ago in the lift, a girl (most probably a freshman) stared at the words on my back.
She asked me with a shocked (and really serious) look: 'Wahhh.... Are you really a rocket scientist?!?! How old are you?!?!?!'
